Whether I’m freezing my ass off on a glacier in Norway or shooting an animated sponge on a comfy stage, this is where I belong. I love the production process and treat each job with equal importance and attention. As I see it, a producer has three main objectives: be fiscally responsible, give the director the support he/she needs to produce a great spot, and build a relationship between the agency, production company and director. I have a great appreciation of the creative vision. I bring about solutions that enhance the creative for both the director and agency. We always want the agency to come back.
Originally from New York, I moved to Los Angeles in 1988 via The University of Miami, where I studied film and television. In my 20+ years of producing, I have worked all over the world. I’ve filmed tennis pro Roger Federer in Dubai for Gillette, a mechanical ape in South Africa for Nintendo, and throughout the United States with Jerry Seinfeld for American Express, yada, yada, yada. I have produced multi-million dollar campaigns, many low budget projects and everything in between. I believe my true strengths are my abilities to macro and micro schedule, extensive knowledge of locations and equipment, and crewing up the right personnel for the job. All that goes hand in hand with my ability to dissect and manage budgets with accuracy.
I have worked with a wide variety of directorial styles. As a result, I have extensive experience in shooting cars, celebrities, motion control/VFX and comedic storytelling. I am the US and UK producer for the feature film Point Break, directed by Ericson Core, released in December 2015, and continue to work with top notch directors such as James Mangold, Nicholas Piper and Klaus Obermeyer.
On a personal note, I have a beautiful wife and two fantastic stepsons. I am an avid runner and love running destination marathons. I recently became the 153rd man on the planet to have completed a marathon on all seven continents. My other love is charity. I am the creator of weSPARK Cancer Support Center’s 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk, which takes place on the Universal Studios Backlot. In five years, we have netted over a half million dollars from this event. I also sit on the Board of Directors for weSPARK.
